Aiming for Excellent is designed for teachers who are generally but not always Good, and who have the potential for all of their teaching to be at least Good. It is designed to be a platform for the development of Excellence, by enabling teachers to be Good at all times.
It has a combination of input, live and video-based observation, reflection, mentor-support, peer-support and online work.

Outcomes and Benefits for Participants As a result of the programme, participant teachers will: • Engage more effectively and productively with teaching and learning design and delivery in schools, securing good in all of their teaching and aiming for excellence • Become more reflective and self-critical practitioners
• Contribute to a culture of improvement in their own school
Outcomes and Benefits for Learners in School As a result of the programme, learners in school will: • Enjoy more effective environments for learning and higher levels of engagement and motivation • Benefit from a wider range of teaching and learning activities, and from more personalised and differentiated teaching • Make better progress and have their progress more effectively assessed and monitored
