




Creative Approaches to Raising Standards in Literacy using Technology

As a successful Lead Creative School now in its 3rd year and offering school to school support in creative approaches to teaching in learning the school will provide examples of how they use technology to increase pupil engagement and raise standards in literacy. Participants will explore and experience what creative teaching and learning looks, feels and sounds like. Day One – Whole day
AM – What is creative teaching & learning? An introduction to The Creative Learning Zone on Hwb. A walk through a selection of applications and ICT tools that have been used to develop pupils’ literacy skills including the use of music in the school’s recording studio and how the work fits within the DCF supported by examples of work produced by the school. PM – Time to work in groups with other course members to develop a creative project that they will go back to schools and carry out with their children. Day Two – ½ day afternoon session to come back and present & plan next steps. |
