Physical Literacy and Physical Education in the Primary Phase
(including lunch and Google Drive access to the PESS resources - Play to Learn, Gymnastics Module 1 and Creative Movement, Dragon Multi Skills, Gymnastics Module 2 & 3, KS2 Dance and Health, Fitness & Wellbeing)

This one-day event supports the creative, competitive, adventurous activities and health, fitness & wellbeing elements of the key stage two physical education programme of study, physical and creative development in the foundation phase and the recommendations as outlined in the Health and Wellbeing area of learning and experience in ‘A curriculum for Wales – a curriculum for life’ (2015).

Event Outcomes By the outcome of this course, delegates should be able to:
• Improve children's confidence & motivation, physical competence and knowledge & understanding, regardless of their stage of development
• Adapt activities to meet children's needs and interests
• Deliver inclusive, high quality child-centred physical experiences
• Access relevant resources to support the delivery of the Physical Education Programme of Study
• Use various pedagogical approaches that will facilitate learning
• Contribute to children's wider development

We need to offer children and young people a curriculum that engages and motivates them to learn and to achieve their potential. This course along with the resources will enable you to develop this, increasing deliverers' confidence, knowledge, skills and understanding in order to enhance children's physical competency (Literacy).

It is advised that all participants wear appropriate clothing and footwear for being physically active, however participants will be able to take part at their own level and will not be expected to do anything they are not comfortable with.
