Caerphilly: Safeguarding (Cancelled)
Governor training is based on the guidance in the Safeguarding Children in Education document, and the requirements of the ESTYN Inspection Framework. The training is NOT what is delivered to all staff on a rolling 3 year programme of basic CP awareness. Governors are of course welcome to attend those sessions in schools, however Governor training is specific to their role. The training is based around the recommendations & responsibilities as listed in Welsh Government Guidance: ‘Keeping learners safe - The role of local authorities, governing bodies and proprietors of independent schools under the Education Act 2002’ - Guidance document no: 158/2015.
