Design and Technology support programme
The professional learning programme for Heads of DT and DT teachers will consist of 3 sessions, with collaborative opportunities between sessions. The programme will focus on developing a ‘lesson in a box’ approach to lesson planning and delivery to improve students’ achievements in the theory aspect of the course.

Session 1: Delegates will discuss the lesson in a box strategy focusing on how lessons can be planned, resourced, and mapped to the LNF & DCF. Resources will be provided to demonstrate the approach. This approach is designed to improve theory standards at KS4 Design Technology. After the session, delegates will work collaboratively to develop a series of ‘lesson in a box’ to be shared in session 3 with all schools having access to the resources developed.
Session 2: Following on from session 1 - twilight session to share resource progress and discuss progress with their ‘lesson in a box’ Sharing of ideas before final presentation at session 3.
Session 3: All attendees will receive all resources developed by the group including a lesson resources.
