Non-Supported Schools Network Meeting with St Alban’s LNS School
Heads of department/English LLC leads and teachers from St Alban’s, Monmouth, Chepstow, Tredegar, Bassaleg, King Henry VIII, Caerleon and Gwent Is Coed.
This network will give heads of department and teachers in strong departments, who receive minimal support from advisers, the opportunity to work together to develop innovation in the classroom based on action research and sharing of effective practice.
Delegates will: • engage in action research and innovation with colleagues from other settings • exchange ideas and information about effective practice to further develop consistently high expectations of all pupils in terms of English and literacy skills across the curriculum • observe effective practice in high-achieving departments
Learners will: • have lessons that are fun, exciting, innovative and accelerate progress • demonstrate resilience and perseverance when faced with appropriate challenge and respond positively to the high expectations set • make progress against all pupils nationally, against similar groups nationally and against other groups in school • develop skills in oracy, reading and writing and use them effectively across the curriculum
