Improving feedback to reduce workload
This course is based on the national training programme that has been developed to support all schools in their journey to reduce workload. There is a focus on reflecting upon current planning and assessment practices, so that teacher can use feedback effectively, so that it has a positive impact on pupil progress. There will be practical examples of how to involve all members of the school community in evaluating and improving practice.

Event Outcomes To enable participants to consider the ‘Reducing Workload’ national guidance
1. Critically evaluate your current practice in giving feedback to pupils and the impact this has on workload
2. Refine strategies for effective and efficient feedback.
3. Increase knowledge about how independent learning can decrease teacher workload
4. Understand how this fits into the ‘Big picture’ of formative assessment / a key pedagogy within Curriculum for life -Curriculum for Wales
5. Improve teachers’ use of effective formative feedback so that it has the least impact on their workload, but ensures the most effect on pupil progress.
