These network meetings are for Literacy Co-ordinators and Languages, Learning and Communication leads in the secondary phase and form part of the ‘Transition for Literacy’ programme.
This network will support Literacy Co-ordinators with preparation for and implementation of key local, regional and national priorities focusing on Successful Futures and embedding the four purposes of the curriculum, developing the Languages, Literacy and Communication AoLE and the National Standards for Teaching and Leadership.
The meetings provide opportunities for attendees to receive up to date information regarding developments in curriculum and assessment, as well as promoting reflection and discussion between colleagues to share good practice within and between our five local authority areas.
• Update colleagues on matters of national and local importance regarding the development of pupils’ literacy skills in schools
• To exchange innovative ideas and information about best practice and current research in order to develop consistently high expectations of all pupils in terms of development and application of literacy skills across the curriculum
• Provide and use appropriate resources, including ICT, to promote effective learning
