Block Play - Building our World
Block Play - Pedagogy and Progression in the Foundation Phase.


This event will focus on the rationale behind Block Play at Monnow - How children represent their environment and the links to STEM.


There will be opportunities to explore children’s planning, designs and developing/ completed constructions.


We will explore progression and resources from Nursery to Year 2.


The session will include opportunities to explore:


? The pedagogy behind the Block Play
? The organisation of the resources to facilitate continuity and progression.
? The management of the area in order to provide the balance between child and adult enhanced learning.
? How learning is supported and developed through links to classroom projects.
? Observe the application of literacy and numeracy skills and early STEM skills through purposeful Block Play
