We will look at the STEM resources for ‘TeenTech City of Tomorrow’ and understand entry for the UK showcase. Teachers will be given a criteria to design and make a building for the ‘city of tomorrow’, using recyclable material. This task incorporates rich opportunities for learners to be ambitious, think ethically, be creative and develop confidence. Geography GCSE professional learning programme
Session 1 will focus on a review of the summer 2018 GCSE examination and discussion of target setting for 2019. There will also be an opportunity for a question and answer session with WJEC GCSE subject officer.

Session 2 will focus on teaching and learning strategies for developing higher order thinking

Session 3 will focus on revision and exam preparation strategies

Session 4 will focus on the role of geography in the new curriculum and developing cross curricular skills through geography

Cohort 4 ETLF for Teachers – professional learning in practice
The programme is aimed at teachers who want to build on current practice and move towards sustained highly effective practice. Using the ETLF teachers will self-assess against the new professional standards and develop a bespoke Personal Professional Learning Plan (PPLP). Teachers will access a blend of e-learning and live practice teachers which will develop their knowledge of ‘Curriculum for Wales’.
After implementing their PPLP teachers will feedback to their triad at the end of the Summer term.

Cohort 7 ETLF - Excellent teaching and leadership framework for Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers
Participants must attend one cohort. They cannot mix and match from the 2 sets of cohorts. 

The ETLF is an excellent tool for Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers to use within their school to aid effective self-evaluation and improvement processes. It will also support Headteachers and Deputies to develop the use of the professional teaching and leadership standards for themselves and the staff within their school.
