Delivering the DCF Curriculum across Foundation Phase
• Discussion with ICT Co-ordinator at Nant Y Parc who has completed the Effective Leadership of ICT and Digital Competence Professional Learning programme- Level 7.
• Opportunities for staff to see effective practice and engage in ideas to support the delivery of ICT and DCF within their own setting.

Foundation Phase Leaders: Newport Non-Maintained Setting Network Meeting (Autumn 2018)
The EAS Foundation Phase is committed to supporting all leaders to become excellent leaders. Networking is a valuable way of keeping up with current initiatives and information. This half a day event will be hosted by members of the EAS Foundation Phase team on a termly basis to ensure that non maintained settings are well informed and supported with all WG initiatives regarding Foundation Phase practice and latest updates from CIW and Estyn.

It is important that teachers in Reception have opportunities to discuss and consider children’s achievements in order to develop consistency of practice when using the WG Foundation Phase Profile. Key messages regarding the expected use of the assessment materials will be discussed with a significant proportion of the session being spent on sharing teacher assessments and reviewing progress in relation to both the Compact and Full Profiles.

Primary LLC Leads Network (West)
In response to feedback from Headteachers and teachers across the region, this network will focus on supporting primary leaders of English and literacy from individual schools and those representing clusters of schools. LLC leads (literacy/language co-ordinators) from all primary schools and campuses are invited to attend. The programme will feature a balance of good practice sharing by schools in the region, information sharing by EAS advisers and discussion between LLC leads across Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly.

The Regional Programme for Curriculum Reform
The new (draft) Curriculum for Wales will be published in April 2019. This development programme will support each school’s ‘professional learning lead’ to understand the key issues that will emerge from the reform. It will also provide a toolkit of resources (workshops and e-learning materials) to the support dissemination of key messages to all school based practitioners.
Part 1 of this programme will be a series of four face-to-face workshops with associated gap tasks, which will take place at the times outlined below
