Practising Teaching Assistant Programme
A national programme for practising Teaching Assistants. TAs will be shown the new professional standards for assisting teaching and how to use them to support their professional development. Topics covered will include, assessment for learning, differentiation, behaviour management and appropriate support.

Cohort 2 ETLF for Teachers – professional learning in practice
The programme is aimed at teachers who want to build on current practice and move towards sustained highly effective practice. Using the ETLF teachers will self-assess against the new professional standards and develop a bespoke Personal Professional Learning Plan (PPLP). Teachers will access a blend of e-learning and live practice teachers which will develop their knowledge of ‘Curriculum for Wales’.
After implementing their PPLP teachers will feedback to their triad at the end of the Summer term.

Governing Body Self-Evaluation Workshop
This session is open to all governors who have taken the role of self-evaluation
champion for their governing body. The format of this session links directly to
the new Estyn Inspection Framework, and the completed evaluation and
subsequent action plan will form part of the evidence for Key Question 5 of
the school self-evaluation.

On completing this session, governors should be able to support their governing body to evaluate their effectiveness, identify priorities for their own development and agree a process for deciding how those needs could be met.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Information Sessions 2019
The EAS has organised information sessions for school support staff and their headteachers to explain the requirements and contents of the Higher Level Teaching (HLTA) Assessment Programme. The programme is free to relevant staff in maintained schools and will take place during the Spring Term. This programme incorporates yoga alongside positive thinking, mindfulness, meditation. The program is designed for children to take these games and life skills and use them in their daily lives helping them lead healthy and active lives.

In this 2 hour training you will learn the programme itself and explore each element so that you feel confident in delivering this in your setting.
The course includes a pack of magick yoga cards, a CPD certificate and access to online resources following the training.
